AVM: Quick Start Guide

Configuring your AVM CAMs (Computer Access Modules) and User Stations.

 Note

In this guide, Transmitters are referred to as CAM (Computer Access Module), and Receivers are referred to as USR (User Station).

This is a step-by-step guide to navigating the AVM Start of Life (SoL) process.

Point to Point (P2P)

This section explains how to set up an AVM extension with a single User Station and CAM.

If your units have previously been configured, you must Factory Reset them.

  • Connect the endpoints together, either directly with a CATx cable or via an isolated network.
  • Connect a display to the User Station and a source PC to the CAM.
  • Power on the CAM, followed by the User Station. This will trigger the SoL process.

The automatic configuration will generate a "Zero-conf Preset." This preset is a one-to-one connection between the CAM and User Station.
If you wish to add further CAMs, follow the Matrix Setup section below.

  • The User Station will report that the signals are lost on the top right of the screen. Once it finds and connects to the CAM, these will then connect.
