Configuring your Second Generation INFINITY Units without an Adder INFINITY Manager (AIM)
Note
In the manual, P2P also describes multiple receivers and transmitters without an AIM to manage them. To distinguish between a single receiver and transmitter, and multiple receivers and transmitters, this guide will refer to P2P and Unmanaged as separate terms.
This is a step-by-step guide to navigating the ALIF21xx, ALIF11xx, and ALIF40xx Start of Life (SoL) process.
Point to Point (P2P)
This section explains how to set up an ALIF21xx, ALIF11xx, or ALIF40xx extension with a single receiver and transmitter.
If your units have previously been configured, you must Factory Reset them.
- Connect the endpoints together, either directly with a CATx cable or via an isolated network.
- Connect a display to the receiver and a source PC to the transmitter.
- Power on the transmitter, followed by the receiver. This will trigger the SoL process.
The automatic configuration will generate a "Zero-conf Preset." This preset is a one-to-one connection between the transmitter and receiver.
If you wish to add further transmitters, follow the unmanaged matrix section below.
- The receiver will report that the signals are lost on the top right of the screen. Once it finds and connects to the transmitter, these will then connect.
