Models: ALIF1000T/R, ALIF1002T/R, ALIF2000R, ALIF2002T, ALIF2020T/R & ALIF2112T
- Remove the power from the Infinity ALIF unit.
- Use a narrow implement (e.g. a straightened-out paper clip) to press-and-hold the recessed reset button on the front panel.
- With the reset button still pressed, reapply power to the unit and then release the reset button.
- After roughly eight seconds, when the factory reset has completed, five of the front panel indicators will flash for a period of three seconds to indicate a successful reset operation.
Models: ALIF1102T/R, ALIF1104T, ALIF2102T/R & ALIF2122T/R
Note
If you are performing a factory reset and intend to disconnect the power immediately after the reset, you must wait at least 30 seconds after you have released the reset button for it to complete the process.
- Power on the unit
- Use a narrow implement (e.g. a straightened-out paper clip) to press-and-hold the recessed reset button on the front panel for roughly ten seconds, until the indicators turn blue (Note: alternating red/green indications will occur during the ten second period while the button is still pressed).
- Release the reset switch. The indicator will change to red for a short while (less than ten seconds) and then back to blue while the unit performs the reset and should then change to an alternative color, usually orange initially, signifying that the operation is complete
Models: ALIF100T (DP, DVI & VGA) & ALIF101T (DP, DVI & HDMI)
Note
If you are performing a factory reset and intend to disconnect the power immediately after the reset, you must wait at least 30 seconds after you have released the reset button for it to complete the process.
- Power on the ALIF100T/ALIF101T
- Use a narrow implement (e.g. a straightened-out paper clip) to press-and-hold the recessed reset button on the front panel for roughly fifteen seconds, until the indicators turn blue (Note: alternating red/green indications will occur during the fifteen second period while the button is still pressed).
- Release the reset switch.
- The indicators will remain blue for a short while (less than ten seconds) while ALIF100T/ALIF101T unit configures itself and should then change to green if all connections are correct; or orange if one or more of the video, USB and/or network links are missing
Model: ALIF3000R
Note
The factory reset process has changed between firmware versions.
Firmware versions 1.0 and 1.1
- Power on the ALIF3000 unit.
- Press-and-hold the button located next to the front panel OLED screen for 10 seconds until the indicator turns blue and the OLED screen shows the message: In factory reset mode
- You can now either:
- Continue with the factory reset, there are two options:
- Use a long narrow implement (e.g. a straightened-out paper clip) to press-and-release the recessed button on the front panel to power it off. Wait 10 seconds and press the button again to power on the unit.
- Repower the unit.
- OR, Return to normal operation without resetting, press the button next to the OLED screen again.
- Continue with the factory reset, there are two options:
- Once the factory reset has been carried out the unit should now be ready for discovery by an AIM server
Firmware versions 1.2 and above
- Power on the ALIF3000 unit.
- Press-and-hold the button located next to the front panel OLED screen for 10 seconds until the indicator turns blue and the OLED screen shows the message: Factory resetting device. NOTE: Do not power off the unit at this point.
- Once the reset is complete, the LED continues to flash blue and the OLED screen shows the message: Factory Reset Complete. Now Reboot.
- Reboot the device, either use:
- The recessed power button on the front.
- Power cycle the unit
- Reboot from the AIM web interface.
- The device will reboot into the other partition with a clean image.
Models: ALIF4021T/R & ALIF4001T/R
