ALIF: How to apply the AIM Licence

Out of the box, the AIM Manager supports up to 24 endpoints (Transmitters and Receivers).   To support more endpoints, you must purchase an additional license which comes in different sizes of 48, 96, 192, 288 and unlimited.   This can be purchased through the same sales channel.

The license is not specific to an AIM role, such as a Primary or Backup, it is only for the number of endpoints that it supports.

 Note

If you are using two or more AIM Managers, for example, a Primary and Backup you need to ensure that each AIM has the same number of endpoints on its licence.

Licence Certificate

When you purchase an endpoint license, you will be given a certificate that looks something like:-
Infinity LicenceCertificate

It contains the following information:

  • Serial Number: This is the serial number of the AIM Manager the license key has been generated for.
  • Product code: Each AIM Manager has a unique identification code.
  • Device Limit: This is a description of the licence that has been purchased.
  • License Key: The key that activates the purchased licence.

Applying the Licence

  • Open the AIM Manager's web interface
  • Navigate to Dashboard -> Settings-> General.
  • At the bottom of the page is a Licence section.

  • Click on the upgrade license link.

    Infinity LicenceCertificate3

  • On the Upgrade Licence page, you will see a Product Key, this is the same as the Product Code that is shown on the Certificate but includes spaces to make it easier to read. If these do not match then the license key was not generated for this AIM Manager.
  • In the Licence Key text box, enter the licence key that is shown on the certificate, including the dashes (-).
  • Press Save to apply the licence key.

Checking the Licence

  • When you apply the Licence key you will be told whether it was accepted or not, and when successful what the new endpoint licence is now.
  • On Firmware 4.2 and above, you can also see what endpoint license you have displayed at the bottom of each page.

  • The last number in brackets is the endpoint licence, in this instance the screenshot is showing a 24-endpoint license.
