Procedure
Important
Please read the firmware release notes before proceeding with the upgrade. The firmware package may contain two or more upgrade files, and there will be an order in which they need to be installed.
There are two methods available for upgrading the firmware on the CCS-MVs: using the On-Screen Display (OSD) or the hotkey method. This guide focuses on the hotkey method, which is generally more reliable and consistent across different setups.
You will need the following:-
- Firmware Upgrade package, containing the release notes.
- CCS-MV Firmware Upgrade Tool.
- A PC running Windows 10 or 11.
- An A to A USB Cable (supplied with the switch)
Upgrading the CCS-MV4224
Steps
- Download and install the Adder CCS-MV Firmware upgrade tool from Adder.com
- Connect a Keyboard to the CCS-MV
- Open the CCS-MV Firmware upgrade tool
- The Available DFU Devices drop down list will be empty.
- Power on the CCS-MV
- Upgrade the System first, followed by the Video
System Upgrade
- Connect the USB A to A cable from the top USB port marked as Keyboard and Mouse
- Press Left Ctrl then Right Ctrl then INS and 1.
- You should hear a click, and after a few moments, the Available DFU Devices drop-down will show STM Device in DFU Mode.
- Click on the Choose button and select the appropriate System firmware file, for example, 'SC446_PP4_Combiner__21_13070424.dfu'
- Click on Upgrade to begin.
- This upgrade will take approximately 5 minutes.
- The upgrade file is complete when it says Verify Successful.
- Disconnect the USB A to A cable.
- Reboot the CCS-MV
Video Upgrade
- Connect the USB A to A cable from the top USB port marked as Keyboard and Mouse
- Press Left Ctrl then Right Ctrl then INS and 2.
- You should hear a click, and after a few moments, the Available DFU Devices drop-down will show STM Device in DFU Mode.
- Click on the Choose button and select the appropriate Video firmware file, for example, 'Comb_4P_4K_Adder_NonSecure_Build_374_5_6_D1.dfu'
- Click on Upgrade to begin.
- This upgrade will take approximately 25 minutes.
- The upgrade file is complete when it says Verify Successful.
- Disconnect the USB A to A cable.
- Reboot the CCS-MV to complete the upgrade.
Upgrading the CCS-MV4228
Steps
- Download and install the Adder CCS-MV Firmware upgrade tool from Adder.com
- Connect a Keyboard to the CCS-MV
- Open the CCS-MV Firmware upgrade tool
- The Available DFU Devices drop down list will be empty.
- Power on the CCS-MV
- Upgrade Video 1, followed by Video 2, and finally the System
Video 1 Upgrade
- Connect the USB A to A cable from the USB port marked as Keyboard
- Press Left Ctrl then Right Ctrl then INS and 2. You should see an Upgrade message on the Paperwhite screen.
- You should hear a click, and after a few moments, the Available DFU Devices drop-down will show STM Device in DFU Mode.
- Click on the Choose button and select the appropriate Video 1 firmware file, for example, 'Comb_8P_FRONT_Adder_NonSecure__Build_304_5_6_D9.dfu '
- Click on Upgrade to begin.
- This upgrade will take approximately 25 minutes.
- The upgrade file is complete when it says Verify Successful.
- Disconnect the USB A to A cable.
- Reboot the CCS-MV
Video 2 Upgrade
- Connect the USB A to A cable from the USB port marked as Keyboard
- Press Left Ctrl then Right Ctrl then INS and 3. NOTE: You will not see an Upgrade message on the Paperwhite screen.
- You should hear a click, and after a few moments, the Available DFU Devices drop-down will show STM Device in DFU Mode.
- Click on the Choose button and select the appropriate Video 2 firmware file, for example, 'Comb_8P_BACK_Build_310_5_6_D9.dfu '
- Click on Upgrade to begin.
- This upgrade will take approximately 5 minutes.
- The upgrade file is complete when it says Verify Successful.
- Disconnect the USB A to A cable.
- Reboot the CCS-MV
System Upgrade
- Connect the USB A to A cable from the USB port marked as Keyboard
- Press Left Ctrl then Right Ctrl then INS and 1. You should see an Upgrade message on the Paperwhite screen.
- You should hear a click, and after a few moments, the Available DFU Devices drop-down will show STM Device in DFU Mode.
- Click on the Choose button and select the appropriate System firmware file, for example, ' SC446_PP4_Combiner__21_14200624.dfu '
- Click on Upgrade to begin.
- This upgrade will take approximately 5 minutes.
- The upgrade file is complete when it says Verify Successful.
- Disconnect the USB A to A cable.
- Reboot the CCS-MV
