CCS-MV: Upgrade

Procedure

Please read the firmware release notes before proceeding with the upgrade. The firmware package may contain two upgrade files, one to upgrade the System Controller and the other for the Video FPGA.

You will need the following:-

• Firmware Upgrade package, containing the release notes.
• CCS-MV Firmware Upgrade Tool.
• A PC running Windows 10 or 11.
• An A to A USB Cable (supplied with the switch)

Steps

1. Download and Install the Adder CCS-MV Firmware upgrade tool from Adder.com
2. Connect a Keyboard to the CCS-MV
3. Open the CCS-MV FIrmware upgrade tool
4. The Available DFU Devices drop down list will be empty.
5. Power on the CCS-MV

Upgrading the System Controller

1. Connect the USB A to A cable from one of the USB ports marked as Keyboard and Mouse
2. Press Left Ctrl then Right Ctrl then INS and 1.
3. You should hear a click and after a few moments the Available DFU Devices drop down will show STM Device in DFU Mode.
4. Click on the Choose button and select the appropriate System controller firmware file, for example, 'SC446_PP4_Combiner__21_13070424.dfu'
5. Click on Upgrade to begin.
6. This upgrade will take approximately 5 minutes.
7. Disconnect the USB A to A cable.
8. Reboot the CCS-MV

Upgrading the FPGA

1. Connect the USB A to A cable
2. Press Left Ctrl then Right Ctrl then INS and 2.
3. You should hear a click and after a few moments the Available DFU Devices drop down will show STM Device in DFU Mode.
4. Click on the Choose button and select the appropriate FPGA firmware file, for example, 'Comb_4P_4K_Adder_NonSecure_Build_374_5_6_D1.dfu'
5. Click on Upgrade to begin.
6. This upgrade will take approximately 25 minutes.
7. Disconnect the USB A to A cable.
8. Reboot the CCS-MV to complete the upgrade.
